Orientation & Probationary Period

New Hire Orientation

Eligible newly hired employees will be prompted to register for the virtual orientation program through Workday during their first week of employment. This session will cover University-wide policies and procedures as well as more detailed information about benefits elections.

Human Resources Orientation

Newly hired staff members in the Division of Biology and Medicine will be invited to the BioMed New Employee Orientation (held via Zoom). The date of this session will be included in the new employee's onboarding email and details to join the session will be emailed to participants within one week of the scheduled session. Representatives from BioMed Human Resources provide information regarding the Division of Biology and Medicine, how your position fits/supports the Division, and some lesser known employee benefits and resources.

Employment Probationary Periods Policy

Purpose: The Probationary Period provides an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to assess the employment relationship. The Probationary Period allows supervisors to oversee an employee’s work, offer advice to increase effectiveness, or dismiss the employee.
