The performance evaluation process aims to provide staff with meaningful feedback about work performance and identify opportunities for continued professional growth.
Staff may actively participate in performance development by completing a self-appraisal. Self-appraisals allow staff members to reflect on their accomplishments and challenges during the past year and determine where additional professional development would be valuable. The self-appraisal form is available in Workday.
Brown uses a 4-point scale of exceptional, highly effective, effective, and requires improvement.
Managers must complete an Annual Staff Performance Evaluation form for employees, including an assessment of the staff member’s accomplishment of goals and key responsibilities, new skills demonstrated during the year, and your assessment of the staff member’s mastery of the University’s core competencies.
